IntraCrop showcases scientific innovation at BWC 2025

IntraCrop returned to the Biostimulants World Congress (BWC) in Barcelona in 2025, taking part in both the commercial and scientific tracks, cementing its role as an important innovator in the plant biostimulant industry. Across three days of technical exchange, strategic discussion and international networking, the IntraCrop team engaged with partners, distributors, researchers and industry leaders from across the sector.

Much of the discussion at the event focussed on the rapid expansion of the biostimulants market, including insights from market analysts highlighting a compound annual growth rate approaching 10%. This commercial emphasis provided a fitting backdrop for IntraCrop’s own contributions across both the Strategic & Commercial and Science & Technical tracks.

Mark Palmer represented the company on the Strategy & Commercial panel, contributing to discussions on how biostimulants are reshaping sustainable food production. Speaking alongside other leaders from across the agricultural value chain, Mark addressed the importance of supporting farmers through trust, efficiency and targeted reduction in conventional inputs.

He emphasised the long-term shift underway in agriculture, noting during the session that sustainable productivity will rely not on increasing fertiliser inputs, but on using smarter technologies such as biostimulants to improve nutrient use efficiency and crop resilience.

A key highlight of IntraCrop’s presence was the official launch of TFU®, the company’s new single-molecule biostimulant, presented by Dr Jaroslav Nišler on the Science & Technical Track. The presentation, titled “Harnessing the power of a single molecule: A novel ultra-low dose root growth regulator”, explained TFU®’s unique mode of action and results seen in both, glass house and field trials.

TFU® exhibits a cytokinin-like effect on shoots and an auxin-like effect on roots, delivering stimulation of lateral root growth at ultra-low doses. The launch generated a lot of interest from delegates around the world, with significant engagement during and after the presentation.

Throughout the three-day congress, the IntraCrop team, who were sponsoring the network lounge, were able to engage in a wide range of technical and commercial discussions with existing and prospective partners. There was a noticeable amount of positive engagement around Status® from international distributors, as well as new industrial-scale opportunities and emerging market leads across North America, Latin America and India.

Mark Palmer reflected on the event, saying, “The Biostimulants World Congress 2025 was an outstanding event for the whole team. It was a pleasure to share our technical and commercial expertise and take part in some really insightful presentations. The TFU® presentation was first-class and generated huge interest.”
