Sulphur plays a crucial role in various aspects of plant development, such as maintaining plant structure and function, sustaining adequate levels of sulphur for overall plant health and productivity. The sulphur in Sulphur Maxx is present in the biologically available thiosulphate form and boots protein formation and nitrogen metabolism. Ammonium thiosulphate (ATS) is an excellent source of ammoniacal nitrogen that can be quickly absorbed by the plant due to its high solubility and nitrogen-sulphur content. Sulphur Maxx also contains Dimethyl Sulphone, a plant biostimulant specialising in improved nutrient uptake due to its ability to increase membrane permeability, to increase protein quantity and quality.
Sulphur Maxx can be applied to a range of crops including Cereals, OSR, Maize, Sunflower and Sugar beet. Soil sulphur is easily leached due to high spring rainfall making shallow-rooting plants particularly vulnerable to deficiency. Availability varies with soil and area and it is possible for any soil to be deficient. Soils of pH less than 5 or more than 8 have particularly limited sulphur availability.
Dimethyl Sulphone specialises in improved nutrient uptake due to its ability to increase membrane permeability, therefore adequate levels of sulphur can be maintained, improving overall plant health and productivity.
Cereals 2.5 - 5.0 l/ha: Winter wheat trials demonstrate the flexibility of Sulphur Maxx from BBCH32 to 55 in increasing yield, with later applications at BBCH55-9 being the most consistent timing for yield. Applications for protein content should be made at the late milky ripe stage (BBCH77) but avoiding flowering. OSR 5.0 - 10.0 l/ha: 1st application at stem extension. Avoid flowering. Maize 2.5 - 5.0 l/ha per application: 1st application at 4 - 6 leaf. Beet 5.0 l/ha per application: 4 - 6 leaf stage. Sunflower BBCH18 – 51.
