Intracrop unveils new data on TFU® seed treatment

Intracrop has unveiled new insights into its patented TFU® seed treatment, evidencing that it is able to drive crop performance from the earliest stages of growth through to harvest.

TFU® works by extending the activity of naturally occurring plant hormones, auxins and cytokinins, by inhibiting the enzymes that break them down. This targeted mode of action produces early visible advantages in the field, including faster germination, increased plant count, higher chlorophyll levels and more tillers and heads per square metre.

These early improvements carry through the season. Across 41 cereal trials, TFU® delivered an average yield uplift of +0.32 t/ha, alongside gains in grain quality. In winter wheat, results from 22 trials conducted across regions including the UK, Europe and Canada showed an average yield increase of +0.38 t/ha.

TFU® seed treatment showcases an estimated £63/ha return and an overall return on investment of 7:1. (£190/T wheat, seed rate= 150 kg/ha)

impact of TFU on wheat

Positioned as a three-phase performance solution: supporting establishment, canopy development and final production stages – TFU® is designed to enhance both crop establishment and final output, offering growers a new lever to optimise yield and quality under varying field conditions.

TFU® represents a next-generation approach to seed treatment, focused on improving crop performance by unlocking more from the plant itself.
