Following the success of its patented MTU® technology, single-molecule biostimulant specialist IntraCrop is preparing to launch another breakthrough innovation – TFU®, a new single molecule biostimulant set for commercial release in 2026.
Developed in collaboration with Palacký University, TFU® (1-(2-(2-hydroxyethyl) phenyl)-3-(3-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl) urea) regulates root genes for increased growth. It enhances hormone-like activity, stimulating both root and shoot growth and improving crop establishment.
“IntraCrop is committed to transparency and scientific validation,” says Dr Mark Palmer, Commercial Director at IntraCrop. “Too many plant biostimulants are sold without a genuine explanation of their formulation or mode of action. Our science-led promise means we will always understand exactly how our technologies work and what benefits they bring to farmers.
“We are delighted with the results we have seen across more than 60 trials in multiple crops and seven countries,” he continues, “The benefit of using TFU® as a seed treatment is that it has a significant impact on establishment with rapid and substantial root growth in the very early stages. This enables the plant to access the water and nutrients it needs to put on biomass quickly. You can see the difference in establishment in a winter wheat trial in Surrey, UK. The photograph was taken at the end of October, exactly two weeks after drilling, and shows a clear improvement in emergence on the left side of the field which was treated with TFU®.”

Visitors of the 2025 Biostimulants World Congress will have the opportunity to learn more, as Dr Jaroslav Nisler will present the TFU® molecule and share the science behind this exciting new development.
TFU® will be available as a seed treatment and a post-emergence foliar spray, with national registrations expected in early 2026 and CE marking anticipated in 2027. You can contact our expert team for more information.
