IntraCrop to play important role at BWC
IntraCrop will be playing a significant role at this year’s Biostimulants World Congress (BWC), which takes place from 2nd-4th December in Barcelona showcasing their new TFU® molecule on the prestigious scientific track . The BWC remains one of the world’s largest scientific and technical events for biostimulants, with over 1,000 researchers, manufacturers, distributors and policymakers attending from around the world.
In 2024, attendees were impressed by IntraCrop’s single-molecule biostimulants and their success in multiple trials. Mark Palmer, Commercial Director, presented the company’s multi-year data programme and the results were later featured in New Ag International. With a wealth of additional data from this year’s trials in-hand, the team hope to continue to showcase how IntraCrop’s science-led solutions are helping growers increase yield resilience, improve nutrient efficiency and mitigate against abiotic stress in Europe.
To do this, IntraCrop will be taking part in panels and presentations across both tracks of the congress. Within ‘Strategy & Commercial’, Mark will be sitting on an 11am panel titled ‘Sustainable agriculture: What initiatives are we employing to drive forward a sustainable food chain?’. Conversation will consider what is currently in place to drive forward a sustainable food chain and what difference biostimulants can make to moving towards this. Their place as a valuable input into quality assurance and the views of growers and food producers will also be a key component of the discussion, which Mark is looking forward to contributing towards.
Later in the day at 2.55pm, Jaroslav Nisler, who led the development of Status®, will give a presentation called, ‘Harnessing the power of a single molecule: A novel ultra-low-dose root growth regulator’. He will share the latest research on TFU® cytokinin dehydrogenase inhibitor (CKX) inhibitors. Recent data suggests that although they exhibited cytokinin-like activity in shoot development, it was unexpectedly observed that they did not suppress root growth, in fact they strongly stimulated it. In trials, they have proven to double shoot and root mass within 21 days, even under reduced fertiliser inputs and at very low doses. In addition to improved crop establishment the new TFU molecule increases yield, in over 60 trials comparisons covering cereals, maize and sunflower yields were increased by 5,9 and 6% respectively. Clearly, this offers exciting potential for sustainable crop production.
