Status®, IntraCrop’s flagship product containing MTU® and pidolic acid, has now gained its CE Mark Certification for vegetables (ornamentals, aromatic and medicinal plants) under the European Union’s Fertilising Products Regulation (EU 2019/1009 – the FPR) for both foliar and fertigation applications. This enables use on these crops across all 27 member states. Having previously achieved this certification for broadacre crops and woody perennials, this means that Status® is certified for all possible crop groups – a significant step forward for the product’s use in the EU.
Data for a range of crops including tomato, pepper, cucumber and rocket across applied via both foliar spray and fertigation was submitted for assessment.. The certification is for the improvement of the following quality traits: increasing leaf chlorophyll content (SPAD-index) and NVDI; the number of plants; an increase in number and weight of harvested crop; crop colour; and crop health.
As well as protecting the plant from abiotic stress in extreme weather conditions, Status® also increases root growth in healthy conditions, improving crop quality and yield by increasing nutrient use efficiency. IntraCrop has conducted trials to evaluate the performance of their biostimulant, Status®, on various vegetable crops. The results demonstrated that Status® improved crop resilience and maintained quality, particularly under challenging weather conditions. Notably, treated crops exhibited enhanced grading quality, indicating potential benefits for commercial vegetable production.
Commercial Director, Mark Palmer, says, “This achievement means that Status® has one of, if not the most, comprehensive CE-marked label on the market. This has opened up a wealth of opportunities for the product within the EU, making it available to growers across the continent. To achieve this certification, our team has had to submit extensive data as evidence for the claims we are making, which we have gladly done. We have run multiple trials on a number of vegetables and are able to show definitively that Status® applications increase yields and quality, even when the crops come under stress. As conditions continue to become more and more challenging for growers in Europe due to extreme weather events and prolonged periods of heat, now is the perfect time for Status® so shine. It can make a genuine difference, and we are excited to hear about the results local agronomists and farmers report over the coming seasons.”
Over the last year, Status® and MTU® have been gaining an excellent reputation in Europe, being presented at the Biostimuants World Congress, Fima Agricola, and as a topic on Phytoma Meets. It has been described as a ‘new generation of biostimulants’.
