Tarazona Reports Promising Results in Spain

Tarazona has revealed the latest results from its ongoing trials of IntraCrop products, highlighting positive impacts on crop productivity, quality, and resilience across crop types in Spain. The findings showcase the efficacy of Status® and Nutrino Pro products in combating abiotic stress, improving nutrient efficiency, and enhancing overall yield potential.

Trials conducted across Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura, Western Andalusia, and Aragón demonstrate that Status® significantly enhances resistance against high temperatures, drought, and salinity—key factors affecting cereal yields in Spain. Improved nutrient use efficiency (NUE) and crop quality promise to shift perceptions of biostimulant use among growers in the area.

Olives

Olive trials in Morocco and Spain provided encouraging evidence of Status®’ impact. In two Moroccan locations (Meknès and Rehamna), trials included a 38% increase in yield and a 10% rise in oil content.

Citrus

In citrus, marked improvements in sodium and chloride content reduction were recorded, leading to healthier crops of better quality. Internal trials confirmed that Status® boosts flowering and sapling development, key to ensuring better yields. This was reflected by the 8% increase in yield (nearly 3t/ha). Additional field trials are planned to validate long-term benefits.

Vegetables

Open-field vegetables, including broccoli, lettuce, and spinach, demonstrated resilience under extreme environmental conditions, particularly in Murcia. A trial on lettuce exposed to high salinity levels showed an increase in production efficiency from 65% to 90% under Status® treatment.

Tomato and Almond

Working closely with main tomato producers, Tarazona is set to introduce Status® and Nutrino® Pro in industrial tomato production across Spain, Portugal, and Chile. Upcoming trials in Portugal will determine feasibility for wider adoption. Meanwhile, almond and pistachio trials show promise, particularly for new shoot development and sapling growth, though large-scale trials are yet to be conducted.

Vines

Table grape trials in Murcia highlighted early improvements in yield timing and colour changes but lacked significant statistical differences in overall production. Nevertheless, growers expressed interest in further integrating Status® into flowering-stage applications and further trials are planned.
