IntraCrop technologies presented at FIMA Agricola
Andrew Low, Account Manager, was asked this week to present on Status at FIMA Agricola, the International Fair of Agricultural Machinery. It is the 60th Anniversary of the event, which focusses on agricultural technology and knowledge sharing in the name of advancing global agriculture. It is well known for the excellence and quality of its technical talks.
As weather in Europe becomes more unpredictable and extreme, biotimulants have an important role to play in protecting growers’ investments. Andrew presented on our leading product, Status, which contains award-winning technology MTU®. It has been proven in independent trials to support a variety of crops through periods of abiotic stress, maintaining yield and crop quality in periods of extreme weather and temperature.
These results occur due to the complementary mode of action of MTU® on photosynthesis and pidolic acid on nitrogen assimilation, allowing the plant to increase green leaf retention and improve nutrient use efficiency, ultimately resulting in higher yield and better quality. In stressed conditions, the photosynthetic apparatus is protected, improving plant resilience, allowing better rooting and quicker stress recovery, thus protecting yield. These results represent to a protected return on investment, even under extreme conditions.
Andrew presented at the Tarazona Agrosolutions stand on 14th February. His talk was well attended by growers and prospective distributors, with many gathering to ask technical questions about its use. Individuals were interested in the impact of using Status in fertigation and whether it can prolong the season in vine crops, particularly table grapes.
Andrew tells us, “It was very pleasing to see such a good turnout for this session. It is always useful to us as a team to network with growers at these events to get a better understanding of the ways in which they are or intend to use our technologies. We can then reassure them on our label claims with the data we have available, and make sure future trials are as useful to them as possible. Interestingly, we have trials running that address many of the key areas queried today! We are currently comparing foliar versus fertigation application in a range of crops, such as tomatoes, and have trials planned on grapes ready to start. We expect results to be good for both, based on previous trials, and will share new data as it is produced. As a science-led organisation it is imperative to us that we have solid evidence of biostimulant efficacy so that we can offer the best advice possible according to crop, climate and soil type.”
