Success for Status® in Sweden

Four independent Winter Wheat trials in Sweden, carried out by Hushallnings Sallskapet in coordination with BioPlan Sverige AB, have recently concluded. In these trials, Status® was applied at a range of different growth stages during the season to assess the impact on crop yield. The trials demonstrated statistically significant yield response at a range of application timings, despite the fact that the 2023 growing season was very challenging.

Hans Alvemar of BioPlan tells us, “In 2023, we experienced some of the harshest conditions we have seen in a long time. Temperatures were much warmer and drier than average in parts of the country, so crops were exposed to drought for an extended period. Unfortunately, this is becoming more common in Sweden and across Europe, and growers are looking for ways to mitigate against this, hence our decision to run these trials. We have been suitably impressed and saw an average yield response of 0.58t/ha across all sites and timings, despite these extreme temperatures. This represents a 7.4% yield increase. BioPlan will be launching Status® in Sweden for the 2024 growing season.”

Status® is a pure plant biostimulant containing the award-winning molecule MTU®, partnered with pidolic acid. MTU® and pidolic acid offer complementary modes of action to increase plant response, by combining effects of MTU® on photosynthesis and pidolic acid on nitrogen assimilation. In healthy conditions, Status® increases green leaf retention and improves nutrient use efficiency, resulting in higher yield and quality. In stressed conditions, Status® protects the photosynthetic apparatus and improves plant resilience, resulting in quicker stress recovery, protecting yield.
