Biostimulant sequence delivers 15% yield increase
The use of sequenced biostimulants in Spring Barley agronomic programmes can deliver a 15% yield increase, according to recent trials results. In a study by the independent trials company Eurofins, a range of different biostimulants from leading manufacturer IntraCrop was applied singly and in sequence to the spring barley variety Irina.
All trials used seed treated with Syngenta’s Beret Gold. The IntraCrop products tested were Prosper ST, a phosphite-based seed treatment; Prosper Plus, a foliar phosphite applied at BBCH13; and Talisman® , a blend of biostimulants and foliar nutrients applied at BBCH25-30 to drive crop performance. All treatments had a positive effect on yield, but the greatest improvement came from all three products used in sequence.
