Developing new adjuvants, biostimulants and seed treatments to help reduce the unit cost of production

IntraCrop is a UK-based company specialising in the development, registration and distribution of products which improve the efficacy of crop inputs on arable farms. Operating across Europe, we work with a network of local distributors, supported by our own European sales and technical managers. Through our parent company, Frontier Agriculture, we have unrivalled access to expertise from Frontier Precision Services and Frontier Environmental Crops, which gives us a unique perspective on the latest developments in soil and plant health.

IntraCrop takes a science-led approach to agricultural technology. We work with universities, research institutes and independent scientists to develop adjuvants, biostimulants and seed treatments. With significant financial backing from our parent company, Frontier Agriculture, we focus our innovation pipeline on developing products that will deliver incremental gain for precision farming, supported by clear evidence from credible, independent trials.

In challenging agronomic and economic circumstances, maximising productivity in crops is vital. Improved efficacy of crop protection and nutrient applications reduces the unit cost of production, making a significant contribution to profitability. Biostimulant development is a vital part of this.

AGRONOMISTS

We work closely with agronomists to understand the key issues on farm, by crop and by region. Our focus on improved productivity is driven by their needs.

A need for improved plant resilience in response to climate change and reduction in the number of active ingredients available has increased the agronomic challenge. IntraCrop’s product development is supported by high quality, independent trials to give you confidence in recommending our products for precision agriculture.

IntraCrop has been working with scientists at the University of Nottingham to investigate the biostimulant properties of phosphites. Dr Steve Rossall’s trials on the physiological effects of phosphite on wheat demonstrated a 30% greater root biomass for wheat and up to 50% on oilseeds. The plants were grown in hydroleca to allow precise recovery and measurement of the roots. Watch the video to learn more.
